Pure Land Kadampa Buddhist Centre Covid-19 Update:

September 29th 2020

We are continuing to live-stream the majority of our classes and events but we are delighted that we can now offer some limited opportunities to attend in person. To keep both you and our residential community at Pure Land safe, we are maintaining the following guidelines, in accordance with the Government COVID-19 guidance for Places of Worship:

Please do not attend if you have been diagnosed with Covid-19 or have any symptoms; (fever, persistent cough or loss of taste or smell) or feel unwell (as the symptoms are so varied) or if you have been in contact with anyone who has symptoms or has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

Before you arrive

  • We will clean and sanitise touch points before you arrive.
  • Chairs will have been quarantined for 72 hours and will be set out in the meditation room at least 2m apart.

Arrival and general information

  • Please arrive in good time for the class to allow for one person at a time to come in, remove shoes and enter the meditation room (the corridor is too narrow for more than one person at a time).
  • Use hand sanitiser provided when you arrive
  • Keep a 2m distance from othersWear a face covering at all times inside the building. Please fill in an NHS test and trace form, or scan our QR code with NHS Covid-19 app.
  • The downstairs toilet will be available - please use hand sanitiser before entering and wash hands on leaving

In the meditation room

  • Chairs will be set out for you – please do not move them.
  • The room will be kept ventilated and we have removed blankets and cushions, so you may like to bring your own cushion and/or some extra clothing for your comfort. (We’ll try to keep the room warm - but there will be some fresh air coming through)
  • Bring your own water if you need it (sorry, there will be no access to kitchen for visitors).
  • There will be no chanting or singing; any chanting will be with CD only.

Leaving

  • At the end of the session please leave one person at a time - (or one household at a time if applicable).

Thank you for your patience.

Things are a little weird but we really look forward to seeing you and welcoming you to Pure Land Centre 🙂
